In Diafarabe, a village of the Macina region in Mali, a Fula festival takes place every year to honour the poet-herdsmen and their cattle returning from transhumance to the vast Sahel plain. A unique moment when ancestral tales mingle with sung poems, while the herdsmen and their cattle seem to have been seized by the same kind of vertigo.

Pascale Kouassigan is a filmmaker from Togo living in La Reunion. She studied environmental science and specialized in the West-African Sahel, explaining her fascination for Mali.
